Meurig Chapman
Founder
Meurig is the founder of Happy Prime. Throughout his 20+ year career as a credit risk management and data analytics specialist, he has worked in various credit risk roles within banks and financial services companies, including technical and strategic roles, executive leadership positions, and chairmanships. He is an experienced quantitative analyst, skilled in Basel II capital modelling as well as stress testing, forecasting and IFRS 9 solutions. A recognised subject matter expert in risk, Meurig has championed innovation, transparency and competition within the financial services industry, comprehensive credit reporting and responsible lending initiatives within Australasia and is a leading driver of open banking in New Zealand.

Mitchell McDonald
Senior Business Advisor
Mitch is Senior Business Advisor who believes in solving problems using a mix of data, experience and pragmatism. He has 9 years’ experience in finance and banking, bringing commercial credit underwriting, retail credit risk management and insights and process improvement experience to the team. Mitch is pursuing a MBA degree at AUT, focusing on his passion for sustainable finance.
Will Kahu
Senior Business Advisor
Will is a Senior Business Advisor with expertise in understanding the needs of customers and stakeholders to provide the best possible outcomes and assist companies to keep moving in the right direction. Will has over 14 years’ experience in the finance industry, spanning operations, underwriting across multiple portfolios in retail credit, process improvement and management, and risk analysis. He has worked closely with fraud and compliance units to understand suspicious activity and potential fraudulent applications and transactions.

Senior Business Advisor

Geraud Hennin
Modelling Specialist
Geraud is a Modelling Specialist with a strong background in mathematics and practical experience in high-performance algorithms. He has over seven years of combined experience across academic research (including a PhD completed in 2023) and a range of modelling roles in the finance industry. This mix gives him a broad understanding of modelling techniques and how to apply them to real business problems. He currently focuses on credit-risk modelling.
Mingming Wang
Business Advisor
Mingming is a Business Advisor with a diverse background. She focuses on building robust credit risk reporting, portfolio monitoring and performance insights that support better, faster decision-making. Her cross-industry experience has sharpened strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling her to quickly frame ambiguous questions, test hypotheses and translate complex data into practical recommendations. Data visualization is her favourite “addiction” – she loves building intuitive, engaging dashboards that help stakeholders quickly see what matters, challenge assumptions, and confidently take the next step.
